One of the main reasons for this website is for me to share books I have found useful in understanding the universe from a spiritual perspective.
I first was introduced to the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom in 2000 or 2001. Since then I have become a student of the Ageless Wisdom studying these 24 books off and on for the last 18 years or so. (I say off and on because during the middle of the 18 years, I stopped studying these books for a number of years and have only re-started 3 years ago.)
During the time when I was not studying the Ageless Wisdom I was reading many other books, which have helped me to more easily digest the 24 Books of Esoteric Philosophy, though I still find much of it obtuse. (It is called Esoteric Philosophy after all.)
I have come to realise that much of the truth and wisdom in these books is beyond me, and so I imagine the information is beyond others and the purpose of listing all the other books I have read on this website is to provide a stepping stone or help for others towards this material.
The Ageless Wisdom is teaching come to humanity down through the ages, and this current stream was started by Helena Blavatsky with a number of books most notable The Secret Doctrine published in 1888.
Alice A. Bailey started writing in 1922, and finished in 1960. Together Alice Bailey and The Tibetan (Djwhal Khul) produced 19 books of esoteric philosophy, and Alice Bailey wrote five additional titles independently.
Since then students of the 24 books have gone through the work and compiled sections with similar topics together, these are know as the Compilations.
Three years ago when I made the choice to start studying the Ageless Wisdom again, I made a commitment to myself to read all 24 books. I have done my best to read a number of pages each and every day, and I have completed reading 23 of the 24 books as well as a number of the Compilations.
Often people ask “What Should I Read First”, Lucis Trust, who publish the books has a page on their website which give their recommendations What Should I Read First.
When I decided to Read all 24 Book I (I think) started with Ponder on This. I would also recommend The Unfinished Autobiography as a good place to start.
As I read the 24 books I made notes on how easy or hard I found the book and I have include this below.
I would encourage anyone who is drawn to this material to start reading/studying the Ageless Wisdom.
Another good place to start with the Ageless Wisdom is other books by students of the Ageless Wisdom. Two such books I have read and reviewed here are:
I included the cover of the book “The Reappearance of the Christ” at the beginning of this post, as it is one of the main themes I have come across in this work, it is said to be imminent, and I feel very connected with this theme.
We also get from The Externalisation of the Hierarchy The Great Invocation
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men—
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out.
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
A Mantram for the New Age
The Great Invocation is a world prayer translated into over 80 languages and dialects. It was given to Alice Bailey in April 1945 in a message for all people of goodwill.
Central Truths
Its beauty and strength lies in its simplicity and in its expression of certain central truths:
- The truth of the existence of a basic Intelligence to Whom we vaguely give the name of God;
- The truth that behind all outer seeming, the motivating power of the universe is Love;
- The truth that a great Individuality, called by Christians the Christ, came to earth and embodied that love so that we could understand;
- The truth that both love and intelligence are effects of what is called the Will of God;
- And finally, the self-evident truth that only through humanity itself can the divine plan work out.
All the Alice Bailey books are available to read (for free) or purchase on the Lucis Trust Website or most online bookshops.
Alice A Bailey on AmazonIn New Zealand you can purchase them at sale prices from the Triangle Centre.
The links in the table below take you to the Free Section of the Lucis Trust website for each title. (The Compilations are not online).
I have rated these books as 5 Star, as I found them to be hard to read with full comprehension. Don’t get me wrong, I found these Books to be illuminating full of completely (to me) new concepts and ideas, and I continue to study them and attend workshops exploring the material.

Whoa, I now have 24 books to add to my reading list!! ❤️🦋🌀

It took me 4 years at 10 to 20 pages a day to read all 24 books. Sometimes changeling, sometimes boring, oftentimes interesting. Best of luck, I hope you find it interesting.

That’s about the speed I read also, unless I happen on a real page turner! But I study books, and write notes in the margins and underline points of interest. 😉

Its very good that you have collected all the 25 volumes of Master DK. Please keep on reading and start teaching the contents to the people around you daily at least for a few minutes. Then it would be very good for you and for others who learnt from you. Thank you.
