Cold-Case Christianity – J. Warner Wallace

Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels

Cold-Case Christianity cover
Gold Key

This is a really good book. It help me to know and believe in the life of Jesus Christ. I have come to understand that the Gospels are eyewitness accounts of what happened.

In this book the author Jim Wallace, a police cold-case homicide detective, who has years of skills looking at eyewitness statements that are old, and analyzing them to divine the truth. Jim was an atheist, and as a cop was meeting all the worst of humanity, becoming more and more cynical about the world. When he puts his cold-case analytical skills to work on the Gospels, to work out if they are fact or fiction, he discovers that they pass all the various tests he uses to examine cold-case eyewitness statements. He also look at other sources out side the Bible which confirm the Gospels. When he is finally done with his research he is face with a decision.

As he has quoted earlier in the book :

Christianity is a statement which, if false, is of no importance, and, if true, is of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.

C. S. Lewis, God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics.

Jim Wallace, has become a Christian!

I have realised that some books, are Key Books: That is they are books that help me to make or get clear on Key Decisions in my life. This is one of those books. (I have added a new Category which I will apply to various books on this site). Often books that are Key for one person, don’t have any influence on other people. But I will share which books were Key for me, as some people may find that these books contain great insight for them.

I was already a believer before reading this book, but this book helped me to solidify my beliefs.

I Totally recommend this book!

  1. No, I have not heard of Ivan Panin, very interesting his finding of numerical patterns in the Hebrew language and Greek language of the Bible. I will have to read more about him.

Have you heard of the Great Invocation?
You may have seen it on my page about the 24 Alice Baily books.
There are two books Sacred vessel of the mysteries and Hidden Foundations of the Great Invocation by John Berges which details the very interesting Numerology of The Great invocation.
