In Times of War- Messages of Wisdom from Soldiers in the Afterlife – Edited by Jonathan Beecher

In Times of War- Messages of Wisdom from Soldiers in the Afterlife cover image

If you, like me, read lots about Near Death Experiences, you could easily come to the conclusion that this is a new modern phenomenon, since the publication of Raymond Moody’s book Life after Life in 1975. In this great anthology “In Times of War: Messages of Wisdom from Soldiers in the Afterlife’ we hear from a number of ordinary soldiers who have experienced or who are in the afterlife and communicate with us that after death on the battle field, they are still very much alive. Stories from one of the earliest near-death experiencers, Er written in 360 BC, through stories from WW I & II and Vietnam.

The Vegetarian Myth – Lierre Keith

The Vegetarian Myth Cover image

I just finished re-reading this fascinating book which I originally read many years ago. I can’t remember if it was this book which saved me from being a “Vegetarian”. My recollection of when I did my 18 months as a vegetarian is that it was before this book was published in 2009. My motivation to be a vegetarian was spiritual. I kept reading in lots of different places that to be spiritual and to be treading the spiritual paths one needed to be a vegetarian, (and a vegan was even better). My excursion into vegetarianism only lasted 18 months as my health slowly deteriorated, and my wife encouraged me to start eating meat again. She had been doing lots of reading and found that my body and blood type were not ideally suited to being a vegetarian, and that the symptoms I was having (constant tiredness, and not being able to get warm (which I still suffer from occasionally)) were all detailed as side effects of a vegetarian diet.

The 3 Paths of Spiritual Growth

Tom Campbell’s YouTube channel is full of really great videos, and I have to restrain myself from flooding my blog with many of them.
But this one on “The 3 Paths of Spiritual Growth” is really great.

The Three paths are:

  1. Path of Surrender or Religious/Tantric path
  2. Path of Service
  3. Path of the Warrior or Yogic Path

Conversations with God Book 1 & 2 – Neal Donald Walsch

Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 1 (1995) Conversations With God : An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 2 (1997)

I first read Conversations with God Book 1 in 2001.

Returning to work this year, and having a 50 min train trip to and fro, I have taken the opportunity to re-read CWG Books 1 & 2.

The CWG books don’t include much evidence to support the afterlife, but if you believe, then the CWG books are a great beginners resource to understand it all. (A more advanced resource would be the Alice Bailey Books, which I have read, and only somewhat understand.)

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the Whole CWG series.

Visit the cwg.org website.

I finished re-reading CWG books 1 & 2 on the 17 Jan 2019.

Children’s Past Lives – Carol Bowman

Children’s Past Lives: How Past Life Memories Affect Your Child – Carol Bowman

This is a very important book. A must read for any Parents or parents to be with young children. To have the knowledge that is in this book in case you child starts to recall a past life is absolutely essential. As Carol states in the book the importance of this book and its knowledge is not the support or belief in reincarnation, but in the healing that is available to children if they are able to share their past lives.
Both of Carol’s children had healing from being able to express their past lives, which started her on the journey of learning about this phenomena.

It is a great book with lots of shared examples of children stories, and the journey that Carol took to find supporting evidence for past lives.
